Untitled (Family Portrait) explores the relationship between materiality and psychology. The use of mixed-media sculpture and installation is used to reflect upon and confront traumatic childhood experiences through cathartic interactions with memory-embedded everyday materials. Untitled (Family Portrait) subverts these memories through the bricolage and assemblage of found objects to reimagine and externalise the associated meanings of the materials. The creative process purges and reconciles trauma to transcend the burden of memory.
