Termination is a personal work that explores the trauma experienced by many women and people. It is an attempt to express a plethora of emotions, and to unpack the consequences and aftermath that follows the decision to terminate a pregnancy. Corrupted symbols of fertility demonstrate a presence of shame within the individual. The fragmented animal forms a symbol of persecution and decay. It also speaks to the general disdain of the act and its taboo within society. It is not a political or religious statement, but an expression of admiration and a testament to strength and will.
