My artworks explore the subject of mental illnesses in order to show awareness and strength. I focus mainly on Anorexia Nervosa, which is an illness that has the highest mortality rate than any other psychiatric disorder in Australia. The series There is A Garden Inside Of All Of Us depicts the human skeleton alongside floral arrangements to represent the process of recovery and how it can come forward to bloom, but can also die and go backwards. The work represents a visual idea of the feeling of becoming a flourishing garden when fully, but temporarily, recovered.
