Sadness and science are green, draws on the work of Frida Kahlo and Kōtarō Takamura to explore the complex relationship between colour and the unconscious. In this work, I link colours with the intangible through psychological and immediate associations. The multitude of painted and named blocks of colour aim to create a sense of suspended disbelief in response to what appears to be a range of Pantone colour swatches. Watercolour and ink are used to achieve a soft and less concrete expression that references the principles of serial art and diary-like sketches in response to the global colour forecasts systems.
