Existence explores self-identity through contrasting family photographs from either side of my cultural heritage. Displayed in a layered format, the images merge to create an ancestral narrative addressing historical moments that have shaped my upbringing. Existence was conceived when I was asked to clean out my Nan’s garage and take a box to the curb. On closer inspection, I found an extensive collection of slides and hundreds of memories. I hope this body of work not only responds to my own identity but also acts as a tribute to the memories that would have been otherwise lost and forgotten.
