Survived explores the patterns of damage, healing and acceptance through an autio-biographical lens. As a survivor of extreme trauma and subsequent PTSD, this work gives voice to experiences of trauma, misdiagnosis and associated feelings of being unheard, isolated and stigmatised. In this series, sculptural forms suggest a fragmented body that emerges from the frame to evoke a dual sense of containment and escape. Survived seeks to use visual art as a vehicle to destigmatise experiences of PTSD, and perceptions of mental health more broadly.
