Capturing the transition between old and new, my work documents the demolition of post- World War 11 public housing, located in the now prestigious suburbs of Canberra’s inner north and south. These buildings are in readiness for the transformation into high end apartments. With traces of former life, the buildings have been overtaken by the coldness of heavy machinery, bearing the static condition of peculiar uneasiness. The stark images of these derelict residential buildings and their interiors stand unoccupied and devoid of life, exposing the rawness of the architecture in a state of terminal abandonment.
