Frantic explores the imminent issue of deforestation and the impact this loss of habitat has on a series of helpless species now facing extinction. Through sculptural linework and movement, this work draws on the notion of flight in order to evoke a sense of distress – a bird’s frantic search for food and shelter to raise their young. The sharp, steel angles echo the mix of sorrow and determination as each fragile species struggles to survive. Through sculptural installation this work seeks to expose and highlight issues of environmental degradation and the impact this has on living creatures.
