I am a Graphic Design and International Studies student with a passion for illustration, simply colour and form, product design, and the nuances of intercultural communication. My capstone project, Hiragana de Asobo (‘Let’s Play with Hiragana’) combines my strengths and interests in each of these areas to create a work that promotes foreign culture and language learning to young Australian kids. By branding and designing a set of five 3D printed characters based on Japanese hiragana characters, my work will give children the opportunity to engage with Japanese language and culture through play.
I am keen to use the graphic design skills I have developed to make the global community a kinder and more cohesive place.
